Data You Give Us Directly
A name, telephone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies results, not retained as a copy of your search by our servers. When you contact us, we receive the information included in your message and use it only to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Our host records ordinary server information, including an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We review it in aggregate to maintain the service and understand which reference pages are used. Cookies or similar tools may also support basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement.
How the Information Is Used
We use this limited information to operate the site, address technical issues, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Links may lead to county and state record portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Information submitted to those services is subject to their own privacy terms rather than this policy. That includes sponsored results supplied by a third-party company.
Who Can Process Information
Hosting and support providers process server logs for us. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic technical data described above. We release information only when valid legal process requires disclosure.
Safeguards and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described above. There are no user accounts, so the site does not hold a visitor password or account profile that could be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data a website holds. New York's Public Personal Privacy Law, Public Officers Law Article 6-A, §§91-99, is a state-agency personal-information access and correction framework. It is not a universal deletion right for county, court, Town, or other public records. Because this site retains very little, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and server logs, then removing information we find. Use the Contact page to ask.
Public records held by New York, Erie County, or Town offices remain under the control of the actual custodian. A correction request belongs with that office. The New York Address Confidentiality Program under Executive Law §108 and confidential voter registration under Election Law §5-508 protect qualifying addresses and registrations; ordinary directory use cannot override those safeguards.
